Why We Built This Site
Matthews publishes phone information through the Town of Matthews staff directory, department pages, police records instructions, and public-records request channels. Many services used by Matthews residents sit outside Town Hall, including Mecklenburg County code enforcement, public health, social services, courts, CharMeck 311, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The result is useful but scattered. A resident may need Town Hall at 704-847-4411 for municipal routing, 704-841-6701 for police records, 704-336-7600 for CharMeck 311 from outside the local 311 path, or 980-343-3000 for CMS district contacts.
Matthews also has a local numbering story. Older civic lines often carry 704, newer county and school blocks often use 980, and both codes serve the same Charlotte-region overlay geography. This site keeps that context close to the phone-directory material so users can tell the difference between a local agency number, a regional county number, a school-system number, and a dialing-code question.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to the Town of Matthews, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina state agencies, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, utilities, telecommunications carriers, directory operators, or any public-safety agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot place calls on your behalf or connect you to a department
- We cannot change anyone's directory listing, add a number, or remove a listing
- We cannot verify the identity of someone who called you
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific scam call applies to your situation
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, area code, or directory link on this site is current right now
Only the originating office can confirm a current phone number or change a listing. For emergencies, dial 911. For a mental-health or suicidal crisis, dial 988.
